Whether you’re wandering beneath the trees, gathering around the fire or simply slowing down and enjoying the woodland around you, your time here is shaped by simple moments and small pleasures. Below are just some of the ways you can enjoy your stay.
Our gorgeous woodland kitchen and bar is a couple of minutes’ walk through the woods and is the perfect place to grab lunch, a delicious organic coffee (locally roasted in small batches) or woodland inspired cocktails.
We can be open by arrangement for evening platters and drinks for groups, but pre booking is essential! This stylish eatery is cosy and chic inside and has lovely rustic verandas and a gorgeous sheltered courtyard outside – as well as its own campfire.

If you are coming to the Dreamery Hideaway with a group, you simply can’t miss our fabled afternoon teas: we find groups can sometimes overcomplicate things and induce a whole load of stress in the process.
We have found the perfect way to celebrate with friends, or bond with colleagues, is over a delicious afternoon tea at our gorgeous café. Our cosy Woodland Kitchen is beautiful by candlelight or we can offer our marquee in the courtyard. We have different options available so you can find your ideal event.
Must be booked and paid for in advance, available between the hours of 2.30pm and 5.30pm, depending on numbers.

Absolutely stunning and memorable tea for brides with an eye on a magical woodland aesthetic.
Delicious homemade scones with clotted cream and a mouth-watering selection of selection of goodies based around a woodland theme gorgeously presented with toadstools, fungi and twiggy platters. Edible butterflies, moss, soils and a decorated flower throne make this an unforgettable experience.

Just a couple of minutes walk through the woods will take you to our small award winning visitor attraction the Dreamery Gardens, England’s Lost Faery Garden.
We get 6 x more adult visitors than children so don’t miss a visit here! If you’re staying more than 2 nights you get free admission.
The gardens consist of a beautiful woodland walk (1.5km) which are being delicately restored featuring over a hundred fairy doors and tree houses, as well as Grimshaw’s Water where freshwater mermaids can be heard singing. Giant swords, dragon’s nests and Jenny Greenteeth/s cottage are amongst other things to discover.
Don’t miss the only Faery Museum in the world, full of precious treasures and housing Professor Howland’s original collection of faery and mermaid artefacts.

Lovely yoga teacher Sarah is one of our favourites at the Dreamery, she’s warm, fun and very, very good at teaching yoga!
She offers a feel-good mix of Hatha, Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga, rooted in tradition but taught in a relaxed, down-to-earth way. Light-hearted, welcoming, and pressure-free — perfect for moving your body without taking it all too seriously.

Our of our most popular group options is to book a fantastic pampering session with Ruth our holistic therapist, she has a range of wonderful massages and treatments available.
All treatments are provided within the comfort of the Both you are staying in, you can even have a treatment on the veranda enjoying the birdsong! With the added luxury,
you can pro-long the benefits of your treatments, and tumble straight into your own bed for a snooze afterwards or enjoy a luxurious soak in your tub for a really blissful experience.
For larger groups who want exclusive hire of the Dreamery Hideaway accommodation the use of the beautiful Victorian style Bathhouse is also available for pampering sessions.

A 10 minute walk through the woods will take you to The Glade, our lovely neighbours’ woodland restaurant. Michael is a talented chef who offers menus inspired by fire, smoke and the seasons. Local food and foraged gems make for a magical evening by the fire. It’s popular so get in touch early to see if he can accommodate your group.
We have been working with the lovely Di for well over a decade and she has looked after many hen parties and large groups during that time. She offers all kinds of activities at the Dreamery, including flower crown making, archery, foraging walks candle making and crafty workshops. She effortlessly creates a boho festival vibe and leaves you with magical memories…
How about a bit of gin tasting, or a cocktail masterclass? Then these are the boys for you – our lovely woodland neighbours can bring everything you need for a fantastic experience. They have expert mixologists and can supply the glasses etc. Minimum is generally 8 people
We are lucky enough to have a fabulous team of actors based close to the woodland and they can offer murder mystery night experiences – a fantastic way to bond with your group and have lots of giggles in the process!
Painting your own pot in the woodlands is a great activity or hand building of clay. Owners Melissa and Val have over 25 years experience of casting, producing and teaching pottery and ceramics.
For more extensive clay firing anf glazing melissa has a studio near the site which groups of 16-20 can take part in.

Founded by the ever-cheerful Henry Birkett, this vibrant company offers simulated game shooting in breathtaking locations in the nearby North York Moors. Game shooting can cost a small fortune. but Henry has created an incredible experience for a fraction of the price – and no birds are harmed!
Popular with both hen and stag parties as well as corporate groups. Henry can tailor a day for you or add you to an existing shoot day. Approx 30 minutes’ drive from the Dreamery but well worth the trip to see the moors at their finest.

One of the most Northerly vineyards in the UK, this lies a few minutes’ drive away from the Dreamery Hideaway, at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds.
Voted one of the 12 best vineyards to visit and tour in England and Wales, they regularly win awards for their wines. All aspects of wine production are covered from pruning and harvesting to pressing, fermenting, bottling and labelling are carried out by hand in a converted cow byre.
Allow approximately 2 hours – available on selected dates between Easter and October. You can also add a cream tea to your visit.
The cookery school is available all year for private groups (including hen and stag parties), corporate away days and friends and family groups.
Go Ape is the UK’s number one tree top adventure, swing around for 2 or 3 hours in the trees, enjoy mountain biking in the woods or have a go a Forest Segway!
Go Ape can create a package for you and your group that could include, drinks, food and/or exclusive use of the forest.

We’re less than 15 minute’s drive away from North Yorkshire’s Karting circuit, perfect for adrenalin junkies or any groups in search of a super-fun experience!
We’re less than 15 minutes away from the Grimston Bar park and ride on the outskirts of York. It is a fabulous city with a huge array of activities to engage groups of all kinds, from Harry Potter fans to history buffs, serious shoppers to ardent foodies…
We are situated in one of the loveliest parts of England, close to the Yorkshire Wolds, the North York Moors, the Howardian Hills and the heritage coastline. We have 2 National Parks, ruined abbeys, castles, great country houses, gardens and incredible walking, as well as a unique host of visitor attractions.
